Redwing Blackbirds have always been a favorite bird of mine. Their stunning features, flashing their red and yellow wing bars and their melodic song always bring joy. So now I have begun painting them from the photographs I have taken. Suddenly they have appeared in my radar and actually had one land on my hand while feeding Brewer’s Blackbirds organic sourdough I made from my car window. My jaw dropped. The Great Blue Heron and Cormorants have been nest building in the same trees and have been a pleasure to watch. Then came March Clouds. BEING OUTSIDE AND IN NATURE feeds soul and frees the mind. Breathing the fresh ocean air and watching the birds has been a saving grace during these pandemic and racially intolerant and violent times. More on that in my next post. Peace and gratitude 🙏
