Although the weather has been a bit strange, Spring does seem to be bursting forward in Santa Barbara, especially with the sµn out and the roses blooming like crazy in our yard. A few more roses and our neighbors orchid-like red flower are here on flickR.

Mother Smith, took the entire family on a paradise cruise ship to Mexico this past weekend. We had a GREAT time, eating, laughing, drinking and shopping in Ensenada. Watch the slideshow of our trip on my flickr site.

Here on the coast in Santa Barbara we have datura, just like in the desert. How funny a plant like this can grow in two such opposite environments!! Also in Santa Barbara is the dollar store and they have pretty plastic from China.

New Pottery

I have been experimenting with some new glazes and some trying black clay. Using the clear glaze on the black clay revealed a metallic speckled golden sheen with many colors. I have completed several Rattles, Buddha Tiles,  and a SeaHorse… will be posting  more pictures soon. Quite pleased with the new chalky blue underglaZe ……
