Yesterday, before the outrageous, windy, swirling fire engulfed Montecito and the canyons of Santa Barbara, I was at the coast taking pictures. Here are two pictures I took of a Black Phoebe and an Acorn Woodpecker. When I returned home I found this HORRIFYING article in the Contra Costa Times. Apparently the “humans” in Walnut Creek have been given permission by Fish and Game to shoot up to 50 Woodpeckers. Idiots!!!
